Two-day scientific Tamil exhibition from Oct 29

Around 150 school and college students in Tamil Nadu would showcase their scientific fervour in 13 science disciplines during the two day ‘scientific Tamil Exhibition’ beginning on October 29 at Bharathiar University here.

The main objective of the ‘Arivial (scientific) Tamil Exhibition was to inculcate and disseminate the knowledge of science through Tamil, since learning science through one’s mother tongue would help to clearly understand scientific concepts and developing logical thinking, the university Vice-Chancellor, Prof C Swaminathan told reporters here today.

This would be a platform for exhibition and exchange of scientific knowledge among the students and the disciplines include mathematics, physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, computer science, biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, planetary science, electronics and communication, he said.

The best three displays in each discipline would be awarded Rs 2,000, 1,500 and 1,000 respectively, he said.
