Car plunges into Ukkadam Big Tank

A car fell into the Ukkadam Big Tank on Sunday after hitting a two- wheeler and injuring the driver.

According to Big Bazaar Police, B. Jagathesh Kumar, 30, a car driver by profession, was coming from Ukkadam fish market and had taken a turn at the Ukkadam Signal when he suddenly experienced a health problem that caused him to lose consciousness.

The car went out of control and hit a two-wheeler after which it veered off the road and fell into Big Tank.

Rescued

The Fire and Rescue Service personnel brought the car out of the tank. Jagathesh Kumar was also rescued without major injury.

He was taken to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital where he was tested for alcohol consumption.

However, the tests showed that he had suffered a health problem. The injured person driving the two — wheeler was identified as Shanmugasundram, 51, a resident of Rathinapuri. He was treated at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

The police have registered a case and are investigating.
