Investiture ceremony: Hillwoods Academy, Peter Vihar

Hillwoods Academy, Preet Vihar, held its Investiture Ceremony on 6th July, 2010. The new Prefectorial Board was led by the School Captain Srikant Pillai and the School Prefect Divanshi Srivastava. A separate Discipline committee headed by Baldeep Singh and Ishna Arora was also sworn in.

Birla Vidya Niketan celebrated the National Day of France on 12th July with Mr Daniel Rignault, Attache de Cooperation Educative, Ambassade de France as the honourable chief guest. The DELF (Foreign Diploma of French Language) degrees were awarded to 25 students for their exceptional performance in French. A rendition of ‘je dis aimo' was presented by the School Band and students also performed an animated dance performance on l'ambe called the French salsa.

Abhimanyu Singh of DPS International received the prestigious Manmohan Singh Undergraduate Scholarship 2010-11 covering his tuition and college fee at Girton College, Cambridge. The fully paid scholarship is awarded to four students from across India and is underpinned by funding from CIE and Cambridge Assessment.

Shreshtha Singh, an ex-student of Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar 2009-10 secured the first rank at the National Level Entrance Test of Delhi College of Arts, New Delhi. There were twenty seats in the Visual Communication branch of the college. Another student of VDJS Astha Sharma has also been selected for the same course in the college.
