Lakshmi Raghavan is a homemaker who loves cooking, solving Soduku puzzles and spending time with her grandsons.

Angaya podi is a nutritious powder which is given to new mothers post-delivery. I learnt this recipe from my mother. It can be eaten by anyone who is looking for a cure from cold and cough.

What you need

Pepper - 1 cup

Cumin seeds - 1/2 cup

Coriander seeds - 1 cup

Red chillies – 2

Dry ginger powder - 1/4 tsp

Toor dal - 1 cup

Bengal gram - 1/4 cup

Black gram - 1/4 cup

Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp

Asafoetida 1/2 tsp

Sundakkai vathal - 1 cup

Dry neem flowers - 1 cup

Manathakali vathal -1 cup

Salt as required

Cooking instructions

Dry roast all the ingredients separately and powder it in a mixer. Angaya podi is ready. Mix with hot rice and serve.
