Fans get a glimpse of Hrithik Roshan who was in the city to promote his latest film

The critics may have panned the latest Indian superhero flick Krrish 3 starring Hrithik Roshan, but that didn’t stop a large crowd from getting to Satyam Cinemas to greet the actor who was here to promote the film.

Wading through scores of women and kids chanting his name, Hrithik Roshan, flanked by his director (and father) Rakesh Roshan and cinematographer Thiru, was beaming as Krrish 3 continues to keep the cash flowing into the coffers. About the film that has managed to collect close to Rs. 203 crore, Rakesh Roshan said he was happy with the way it has been received, particularly in Tamil Nadu. “The number of prints in Tamil was increased from 68 in the first week to 99 in the second. The response has been phenomenal,” he said.

Hrithik Roshan was gracious enough to acknowledge the kids who lined up on the stage to meet their icon. Starting his address with a shout out to Chennai, the actor said that he was intrigued by the moral codes that superheroes live by in movies. “Playing a superhero is not like playing anyone else. To understand what values that they (superheroes) live by and their code of ethics made it a great journey,” he said.

Answering a question on whether Hrithik Roshan’s film will incorporate Tamil-speaking characters in his films like many of his contemporaries such as Shah Rukh Khan have, the actor said, “In my very next film, I would do it.”

While many wanted to know if the duo would be making Krrish 4, Rakesh Roshan even discussed plot and characters. “I hope to bring back Kaal for the next film,” he said and added, “I am also thinking of weaving Jadoo and a possible side-kick into the story.”

After a brief media interaction, the actor and the director made a quick exit and were followed by kids who didn’t get to shake hands with their star. One of them was seven-year-old Apurva, who was still hopeful of meeting him. “I want to ask Hrithik how he managed to perform those difficult stunts, which even Spider-man and Iron Man wouldn’t be able to perform,” he confidently said.

But someone who was lucky enough to present flowers to the star was nine-year-old Hrday, who was blown away by the climax. “I like many superheroes such as Iron Man and Superman, but I like Krrish because he is super strong and superfast,” he said. While critics could see nothing good about the film, it turns out that those who matter have really lapped it up.
