Watch

The Colourful Life of Mr. Boonman

Sick of the Kabali hype? Or just bummed out because you couldn’t get tickets for Thalaivar’s latest? Either way, calm yourself by watching Green – A Portrait of Hope . It is the first episode of the four-part web series The Colourful Life of Mr. Boonman , based on Portuguese surfer Pedro Boonman. The series talks about how colours influence his life and what they mean to him, and the people he comes across in his travels. Filmed in the oft-forgotten Central American nation of Nicaragua, it features pristine beaches, an intriguing background track and a message of hope.

In his signature style, he brings alive the town of Mussoorie, capturing its sights and sounds in prose and poetry. Some of his writings featured in the book are ‘Once Upon a Mountain Time’, ‘Sounds I Like to Hear’, ‘How Far Is the River’ and ‘After the Monsoon’.

Listen

California – Blink-182

After a five-year hiatus, the pop punk/alternative rock/punk rock/skate punk band is back with its latest album, California . Its seventh studio album has debuted at the number one position on Billboard Top 200, displacing ‘Views’ by Drake, which has been in the spot for the last few weeks. The title track has a melancholic tinge to it, but still manages to up your spirits. And, while a lot of fans are happy about the comeback, some point out that there are too many “Na na na” and “Whoa whoa whoa” interludes in the songs. Personally, I enjoy them.

Do

Cousin’s Day

As a single child, I’ve always thought cousins were the best: you could meet them, play to your heart’s content, share your toys for a little bit, and then go back to your respective homes without the hassle of constantly dealing with a sibling. They really are under-appreciated. So, on July 24, which is Cousin’s Day, plan to spend the day with them — and since you’re a cousin too, it’s all about you as well.
