History TV18’s new show promises to take its viewers on a gastronomical journey with the launch of Food CIA. The series will explore the provenance of food, employing simple, unbiased questions to procure answers to the trade secrets of the top food companies.

Reporters Matt Tebbutt, James Watt, Martin Dickie and Kate Quilton from the Consumer Investigation Agency (CIA) travel the globe to explore the secrets behind mass-produced food.

They will be seen meeting technicians, scientists, factory owners, growers and producers to find out exactly what goes into the everyday groceries that end up on the supermarket shelves.

From ‘fresh’ minced meat that has been deep-frozen for three years to ‘traditional’ Italian pasta made with the push of a button, the issues the investigators raise are sometimes simple and hilarious, but the answers are always shocking and thought-provoking.

Food CIA begins October 20 and will air Monday to Friday at 8 p.m. on History TV18.
