It is ideal for a light lunch or for those who want healthy food without adding too many calories. Not a particularly elaborate dish, it can be whipped up in 30 minutes for a couple of people. Though both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are there, it works better as a vegetarian dish.

Ingredients

Two medium-sized grated carrots

A pint of salt and a dozen pepper balls

A tea spoon full of ginger garlic paste

One chopped tomato

Chopped coriander and mint leaves

Method

Boil whole wheat porridge (daliya) in two cups of water. Add salt to taste. Once boiled divide it into three equal parts. Take 1 TSP of olive oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger garlic paste. Mix the ingredients well. Now add tomatoes and red chillies.

Then add carrots and one part daliya. Cook for five minutes and set it in a greased bowl. Now take the second part of whole wheat daliya and half tsp of olive oil, sprinkle crushed pepper (you can add a piece of chopped boneless chicken if you would like to please non-vegetarians).

Layer it above the first one.

In the final layer add one tsp of olive oil (mint and coriander blended). Mix the third part of daliya in it.

Cook for a while and pour in the bowl as a final layer.

Put a plate over the bowl and dish it out.
