Winters are not just about getting cosier in your comfy blankets but also about moving out to dream destinations. And that means a stylish wardrobe that matches your perfect vacations. What outfits shall suit your destination, what clothes to carry, what shoes to select are the most common queries.

Designer Rocky S. says, “Holiday fashion is different from casual wear in terms of the comfort value since one packs the most comfortable clothes for travel. But when you are travelling in winter you need to be more careful as your style may vary from the places you shall be seeing. Holiday essentials are a good pair of denims, basic jacket, a nice silk scarf or stole and sturdy sports shoes.”

Now that the holiday essentials are set. Let us peek at the styles and trends that can make a perfect holiday an eternal memory.

Silhouettes

Comfort is always an essential factor. The outfits worn while holidaying should be comfortable and have a certain ease yet be very stylish and timeless in appeal. As designer Narendra Kumar says, “Winter vacation can be fun if one is careful with silhouettes. Polo necks, cardigan styles, suede shirts and sporty hood jackets are must-haves for any destination. Accessories like mufflers, caps or scarves add grace.”

Time to go Ethnic

That's the newest trend this season. Vacation can also mean some partying with friends or dear ones. That means you can pack a couple of printed cotton or silk dresses, floral and paisley kaftans.

Halter-neck easy-to-wear dresses are apt for vacations. Another style can be a nice balloon dress. You heard right, the style is still in fashion and gels well with the fall season. Anjana Bhargava tells you more: “It is very comfortable and goes well with every occasion; be it a beach party or a traditional festival,” says Anjana. Just remember, holidays are about relaxation. No fuss, no clutter. That's what should reflect in your wardrobe too.

Shoes and Boots

“Winters mean boots, what else? They are comfortable and smart. Knee-high boots look fabulous,” says designer Sanjana Jon. Well, keeping destination in mind, you can certainly play with the styles and lengths in boots or simple shoes. Choose distinctive tones like olive greens, tans, beige to warm up an otherwise boring boot can be a good choice.

Shawls and scarves

Shawls are making a comeback. The loosely-worn and wrapped-around-the-shoulders look can serve as day wear or night wear depending on the way you drape it. It can also be dressed down or all around depending on an individual's taste.

I'm sure by now you have a great list of styles to try before you pack your bags.
