The maiden collection of poems by Indu Singh was recently released by eminent critic and author Prof. Namvar Singh at Sahitya Akademi here.

Lauding the first venture of the young poetess in the Hindi literary world, Namvar described it as an effort coming straight from the heart in an easy and simple free-flowing verse.

He said Indu Singh has strived to create a new space for herself and has dealt with a wide range of issues and emotions that touch upon life of a woman, a young village belle, urban life, stark reality of crumbling relations in a modern age and hardships being faced by a woman.

Noted poets Lakshmi Shankar Vajpayee, Umesh Kumar Singh and Alka Sinha participated in a discussion on the collection, hailing it as an honest attempt that paints an entire canvas of social issues and emotions.

In his introduction, eminent Hindi poet and litterateur Kedarnath Singh said hallmark of Indu Singh’s poems is truthfulness and honesty which are rare to find in contemporary Hindi poets.

Noted novelist Chitra Mudgal and poet Anamika described Indu Singh as a promising new signature who has traversed from the world of blog to take on issues of unemployed educated youth, women’s lives at various levels through unique symbols and simple form and language.
