Known for her special dance numbers, Claudia Ciesla recently turned to writing. Being a certified nutritionist, the actress of Polish-German origin has penned a book on fitness. Called “Keep Eating Keep Losing” (Om Books International), Claudia was in the city to talk about the book. “I am a nutritionist as well so the journey into fitness education has not begun just now. I started modelling at 15 years of age and keeping myself in shape is part of my job. In the beginning fitness was just a job but now it has become a passion.”

Noting that she intends to spread awareness about how easily one can take care of the body without starving or following a crazy diet, she said, “With ‘Keep Eating Keep Losing’, I want to break the myth that if you want to lose weight you have to starve, which is absolutely wrong. It is amply clear from the twist in the title of my book itself, that to lose weight it’s compulsory to eat properly and regularly.”

For Claudia the inspiration to write the book came from self when as an outsider in India she understood the local food habits. “In India, it is always tea and coffee time with no one ever saying no to them. The traditional Indian diet is healthy but people are changing it leading to obesity. It’s sad to see India as one of the major diabetes centres in the world. I want to change that and make people aware to live a healthy life. That is the main agenda of the book.”

Stressing on the importance of yoga, the actor states that it is a crucial part of her life. “Yoga is a way of life and not merely an exercise routine. I practise yoga as it balances mind and body so beautifully. It’s not simply an exercise but teaches us how to live an anxiety-free life.”

On being asked if her book is on similar lines of those been written by other celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Claudia clarified, “She (Shilpa) is fit but is not a nutritionist and had to tie up with other nutritionists but I don’t have to.”

Denying taking up writing as a profession, Claudia said that she enjoyed acting and had a few projects in pipeline.
