There once lived a poor orphan. He earned money by making hooks and fishing.

One night, he went out to sea. A couple of hours later, he was very tired. Then he came ashore to rest. He watched the beauty of the night. He noticed a round, white, shining object moving in the dark sky.

When he felt better he went to fish again and later he sold the fish. He thought about the round object and wondered if it was a diamond that no one could bring to earth.

He thought to himself, “If I bring it down, I will be rich.” He dreamt all night of having the object and how he would become rich. The next night, he went to sea at 8 p.m. He waited for the diamond to appear. He sailed to the middle of the sea and when he saw it tried to catch it.

A sudden storm came up and the boat began to sway. The boy fell into the sea. Suddenly, a boat appeared and the man in the boat rescued him. The boy then narrated what had happened and the fisherman understood the foolishness of the boy. When he realised that the boy was an orphan, the fisherman was moved and gave him a job. Finally, he told the boy that the round object was not a diamond but the moon.
