Promoted as being international in style, a new multi-use complex is also perhaps the first apartment project of its kind to have taken shape in Mysore
For a city whose residents lean towards independent housing units and not apartments, the concept of an integrated township was alien and the idea was met with indifference, if not disdain, when it was first mooted a few years ago.
Yet, the city-based Sankalp Group has braved all odds to complete the first phase of its ambitious Sankalp Central Park in Yadavgiri, redefining luxurious lifestyle and bringing in a new dimension to the concept of flats and apartments in Mysore.
V. K. Jagadish Babu, Managing Director, Sankalp Constructions, explained: “We wanted to bring infrastructure that was international in class and scale and prove that Mysore, which is known for its heritage, did not lack in amenities”.
He told The Hindu PropertyPlus that “With improvement in connectivity and reduction of the commuting time between Bangalore and Mysore, one could expect a greater influx of population and pressure on housing in Mysore and this project mirrors the changing trends.”
Sankalp Central Park is the flagship project of the group which roped in architects from Singapore adept at land and space utilisation and came out with a design that blends with the surrounding ambience.
Emphasis has been on retaining open space and providing enough greenery to avoid the claustrophobic feeling that mars most such projects. “We have retained 78 per cent of the land for lung space and amenities while the built-up area is only 22 per cent of the 27 acres of land area available”, said Mr. Jagadish Babu.
The residents have various amenities including a full-fledged gym, a clubhouse with a lounge, and a swimming pool.
The housing blocks have been so designed that all development is concentrated in the middle while the motorable roads and pathways set amidst landscaped gardens are at the periphery, which cuts off noise and sound.
A shopping complex, ATM, basement parking and other necessities are in place.
Sankalp Group has invested over Rs.40 lakh on the sewage treatment plant which recycles water and is used for gardening while a rainwater harvesting system is in place to meet a significant portion of the secondary requirements.
The residents have a choice of two-bedroom or three-bedroom flat. The design is such that every apartment opens out into the open area.
