Sunitha Girish presented a vocal concert at the 62nd monthly music festival organised by the Tiruchirapalli Tamil Isai Sangam on May 16. The venue was the Tiruchi Tamil Sangam hall.
Sunitha Girish was accompanied by Nagercoil V. Ganapathy on the violin, Koppu G. Nagaraj on the mridangam and Malaikottai R. Deenadayalu on the morsing.
Tiruchi E. Velusamy was the chief guest and L.N. Lakshmanan, president, Tiruchirapalli Tamil Isai Sangam, presided over the function. Velusamy in his special address traced the developments achieved by Tamil music. “This musical form has been accepted and enjoyed by the people of both cities and villages. Its popularity is growing day by day,” he said and commended the Tamil Isai Sangam for its initiative to promote Tamil music among the common people. K. Arangarajan, secretary, Tamil Isai Sangam, N. Mohan, its vice-president and others offered felicitations.
