Prakriti Foundation, Chennai, presents its annual Festival of Sacred Music at Tiruvaiyaru from March 2 to 4. It will host the following performances:

March 2 (venue: the courtyard of an old Maratha Palace): Monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery will perform Sacred Buddhist Chants. Then, Dr. Phillipe Bruguiere, an ethnomusicologist from Paris, will present a Rudra Veena recital.

March 3 (Pushya Mahal Ghat, on the banks of River Cauvery): A nagaswaram concert will be presented by Mylai S. Mohanraj and team. Then, Asima, a male vocal and percussion band from Thiruvananthapuram will perform.

March 4 (near the Amman Shrine of Panchanadhiswara Temple): Ambalapuzha Vijayakumar will perform Sopana Sangeetham, which are ashtapadis usually sung at temples in Kerala. The finale will be a concert by Sudha Ragunathan.
