The ‘Krishnamacharya Kala Peetham' of Vijayawada, which was established a few years ago in memory of the great violin vidwan, scholar and guru who trained many disciples in violin and vocal, released the second edition of Thyagaraja Geyardha Kunchika authored by the late N. Ch. Krishnamacharyulu at a function at Sri Sivaramakrishna Kshetram.

The first edition of this book was much in demand and copies sold like hot cakes, as it contained almost all the keertanas of Thyagaraja along with erudite commentary on each keertana. The second edition was released by scholar T.S.Ramachandra Rao.

N.Ch. Jagannadhacharyulu presided over the function, while vidwan Malladi Suribabu and T.K.V. Raghavan were the guests of honour. On the occasion, veteran violin vidwan Neti Srirama Sarma was honoured. The function was followed by a fine vocal duet concert by the T.K. Sisters, Saroja Janardan and Sujatha, who were disciples of the late Krishnamacharyulu.

They rendered several of their guru's compositions. Gajjela Satish and N.C.S. Raju accompanied them on violin and mridangam, respectively.
