HYDERABAD: Visakha Music Academy’s three-day annual edition of youth festival of music saw sparkles of talent on display at Kalabharati Visakhapatnam. Well conceived and executed in precision, the fest served beyond providing a platform for expression of young talents. Each of the participants gave their best both in vocal and instrumental music. In the exposition of chosen pieces, the young minds not only replicated what was imparted but essayed well to lend genuine expression to their enthusiastic passion and innate artistic flair. With artistic adrenaline pumping high on performing on a prominent platform, visibly excited artistes of promise remained at their evocative best all through. Be it a fleeting presentation or a detailed exposition, the young minds raised the bar in showcasing their imagination in full scale. The manodharma in their presentations was remarkable. Notwithstanding a few slackening moments with some presentations, each was a vibrant session in its own right. The delineation like RTP demands a good grasp of its intricacies and meticulous practice and not only sheer enthusiasm. Their Gurus, conceivably, need to ensure that. It is appreciable that the youngsters gave out their best unperturbed technical glitches like malfunctioning of microphones.

The fest opened with the vocal concert of Dwaram VN. Priya Bhavana and Duvvuri Jayalakshmi Srisruti. Hyderabad-based Tejas Mallela displayed good grip over technicalities and presented both raga bhava and sahithya bhava in good sync with soothing feel.

Raga Subhapanthuvarali was its main piece and the krithi for this was Ennallu Urake of Thyagaraja. In the fest ragas like Todi, Kalyani and Charukesi found appealing expression in the hands of up and coming artistes. Rajahmundry-based veena artiste Ravikiran stole the show through commendably profiling chosen ragas in captivating manner. He rounded off his session with his own composition, a bubbly Tillana in raga Mand. Vocal concerts of Satwika Uppuluri, Haritha Sisters besides violin concert of Pappu Gynadev were impressive in the fest.

Violinsts M Sriramya, H Ramcharan and NVS Lakshmi Prasanna, Mridangam artistes Varanasi Jayadeep Sarma, A Kameswara Rao, Pappu Jayadev, V Saisrikar, K Aravind and N Karthik and M Kamesh on ghatam accompanied different concerts in the fest.
