Miss Kerala Calendar 2013

Impressario has come out with the third edition of the Miss Kerala Fashion Calendar. The 2013 calendar, in matt-finish paper, features Miss Kerala 2012 Deepti Sati, first runner up Sanika Nambiar and second runner up Reshmi Nair.

In keeping with the theme of the calendar, “Backwaters”, photographer Rajan Paul has carefully brought in authentic Kerala motifs such as the snake boat and the traditional Kerala style interior wood paneling as the setting for his pictures. Shot at Hotel Raviz in Kollam, the hotel’s plush interiors form the backdrop for the pictures. The swimming pool, too, and the lotus pond too add to the visual effect.

Each photograph tells a different story with the colours, costume and setting. While one of them has a model posing beside a swimming pool, another has her leaning on a wooden boat.

The models are dressed in traditional Kerala attire too, however, with a contemporary twist. The gold kasav and off-white combination saris have been matched aesthetically with antique jewellery. Achu Kichy is the stylist and designer, who has experimented with the lasting appeal of the Kerala sari. The saris have been draped to look like skirts, with frills and pleats.

Make-up, by Ramesh Kannan, changes from subtle to showy to match the outfits. The calendar has been designed by Animesh Xavier Effects. The calendar was released recently.
