I completed BA in the Arts stream in 2013 and I am presently working with the social sector. I want details of institutes that offer BSW/MSW programmes. I am keen to join NGO activities and willing to travel to any part of the country to pursue academic studies.

Many universities now offer Social Work as one of the combinations at the Bachelor’s degree level. At present, there are a few universities and their affiliated colleges that offer the three-year BSW (Bachelor in Social Work) course. The Master’s degree course (MSW or MA) is available in over 50 universities. A large number of colleges affiliated to them have been permitted to offer Master’s degree courses. The courses offered by TISS and the Delhi School of Social Work (Delhi University) are rated very high in the employment market. Contact:

The corporate world where Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is being practised will also provide you ample opportunities.

I completed B.Tech in 2007 and am currently working. I want to know if there are any institutes offering Post-Graduation in Nuclear Energy. I am currently working in the Energy sector and find that there are opportunities in this field in India and overseas.

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) (www.upes.ac.in), Dehradun, conducts the three-year Master of Science (M.Sc) in Nuclear Energy under the College of Engineering. Considering that the University focuses on Energy Studies, the course in Nuclear Energy is a flagship programme that is well respected. The programmes of the University are approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC).

For admissions, you should contact the Registrar, UPES, Energy Acres, PO Bidholi via Prem Nagar, Dehradun, Uttarakhand-248 007. Ph: 0135-2764370, 2764371.

I am a B.Com graduate. After completion of degree education, I went to work immediately on account of family and economic issues. I joined a courier company and then moved into logistics. I have about eight years of experience and I now feel that I should have a specialisation education in the subject of logistics. I don’t want to leave my job and am interested in pursuing education through e-learning method. I can attend classes during the weekends. Please advise what I should pursue.

I have completed LL.B. (three years) and I have been practising for the past five years. We had no campus placement, but I got to work with a good team. However, I have not been able to stabilise. Do I need to pursue anything else further to make a career out of the same or have a change in my outlook for the practice? I would like to pursue higher education in the field.

Legal practice takes a while to get established. However, that does not mean the individual does not have opportunities. Pursuing higher studies viz., LL.M. or any other course in the field, either part-time or full time, would help.

A LL.M. qualification will increase your knowledge in an area of specialisation, which will help you in the long run or more importantly take you to the academic line. One can pursue the campus mode programme (regular) in one year as per the new norms. If you are keen to pursue LL.M. in the distance learning schemata, then the duration would be two years, wherein you can specialise in areas such as Business Law, Constitutional Law, and Criminal Law, to mention a few.

On completion of LL.B. start practising with a senior who is well established or with a firm which is focusing on areas that have wide ramifications in the legal fraternity and society; it will help you to grow and get identified. Also identify an area of specialisation. Under the normal circumstances LL.B. graduates start working in Criminal and Civil cases. One should also identify areas like taxation, arbitration, corporate law, patents, immigration, and environmental law that will take you to a newer dimension in the field.
