The ninth edition of Kshitij, the annual techno-management fest of IIT-Kharagpur, will be held from January 27 to 30, 2012.
The events not only test the scientific dexterity of the students, but also provide internationally recognised certifications from globally reputed institutions such as ASME, ASHRAE, IMechE, ACM and IEEE. Events such as Overnite , sponsored by Microsoft, receives maximum foreign participation, BPlan which has an incubation prize money of Rs. 30 lakh; and Laws of Motionwhich, which sponsored by Boeing, are the major highlights of the fest.
For avid learners, Kshitij conducts an array of guest lectures by eminent dignitaries such as Jimmy Donald Wales (co-founder of Wikipedia; Larry Wall (father of PERL programming language), Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma (first Indian cosmonaut) and Nobel laureate Sir Anthony James Leggett.
Kshitij conducts a series of exhibitions which range from technology to management, such as the futuristic Sense Table from MIT Media Labs; AR Pool by Queens University; and workshops by major organisations such as Automotive Engineering by Jaguar and CUDA technology by NVIDIA.
