Well, here's news on Kamal Hassan's eagerly awaited “Vishwaroopam”. Apparently, shooting for the film is over.
Says a source: “Kamal, who is concentrating on the sound mixing and special effects, is scheduled to return from the U.S. by May 10 or 11. VFX Madhu, who has worked with Kamal before, is doing the special effects for this film, which will be a trilingual. The film's audio will be released in June. The film itself is likely to be released in July.”

Doing the festival rounds
Director Gaurav, whose film “Thoonga Nagaram” still continues to win awards, is all set to begin work on his next project. “The film ‘Sigaram Thodu', which is to be produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, will focus on the bond between a father and his son. The movie will have comedy and action. Richard, who shot ‘Angadi Theru', will crank the camera for this film. We intend to use cameras such as the lipstick camera that have never been used in Tamil films before. This film will technically be a lot classier than Thoonga Nagaram,” he says.
“Thoonga Nagaram” that just won the Best Film (Tamil Culture) award at a festival in Norway will next be screened at the European Film Festival in London this July.
About the award he bagged in Norway, the director says: “Ragnhild Bergheim, the official who presented the award to me, said she was impressed with certain sequences featured in the film. Especially, those pertaining to the Vazhukku Mara festival (in which young men try to climb a pole rinsed in oil). She wanted to know if such a festival really existed and I told her it did and that it was practised in Vadakku Maasi Veedi in Madurai even today. She expressed the desire to watch the festival.”

Back on track
Actor Vadivelu, who has been missing in action for quite some time now, will be seen in a film that is to hit the screens this month. He plays a quack in “Marupadiyum Oru Kaadhal”. The film's director Vasu Bhaskar says: “Actor Vadivelu's portions have come out really well. The film's based on a real life incident I learnt about while talking to a co-passenger from Germany I met in Malaysia. Two newcomers — Anirudh and Joshna — play the lead in the film, a major chunk of which has been shot in London.”
