Actor Kamal Haasan on Sunday lodged a police complaint stating that he had been threatened against releasing the movie ‘Viswaroopam’ in DTH format. Kamal lodged a complaint with Additional director general of police (Law and Order) T K Rajendran. He alleged that calls threatening to circulate pirated DVDs and cut power supply to theatres screening the movie were made to him.

The actor said that he had mentioned the names and numbers of those who threatened him.

He said despite the threat, the film would be telecast in DTH format on January 10 and in theatres the next day. Several theatre owners’ associations had threatened to not screen the movie.
