Actor Anushka Sharma was stopped by Customs officials at the international airport in Mumbai on Monday on suspicion that the gold and diamond-studded jewellery and other belongings she was carrying were not accounted for.
The actor claimed that she had taken the valuables from India while going abroad and had declared them at that time. “We are verifying the claims,” a Customs official said.
