'Chiyaan' Vikram is taking on a new role — as a partner and brand ambassador of Big Deal TV , a 24/7 celebrity-driven home shopping channel. During the launch, the Raavan actor responded to a question on brand endorsements by stars, in the wake of the recent controversy surrounding Maggi Noodles.

Explaining about why chose to be a brand ambassador, the actor said: “It’s a risk you’re taking, but it’s a choice you make. Just because there are many accidents on the road, you cannot stop driving, right?”

“With Big Deal TV , we clearly mention that if you aren’t satisfied with the products, you can return them back. You cannot return Maggi, can you?” he said.

Slated to go on air later this month, the TV channel will feature several products, which can be purchased at any time of the day using the code on it.

The channel is being promoted by businessman and IPL's Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra.

“When Raj Kundra came to rope me in, I listened to his pitch for ten minutes and was sold on it instantly! It was such a beautiful concept for the Tamil Nadu market, and I wanted to be part of it, ” he said.

Hindi actor Akshay Kumar is also a brand ambassador for the television channel.
