With two matches still to be played in the five-match series, Australia regained the Ashes from England by going 3-0 up in the series.

Josh Hazlewood finished with five for 48 in the final innings as England were bundled out for 218 to lose by an innings and 41 runs.

Barca 11 clear of Real Madrid ahead of El Clasico

The El Clasico might be scheduled for the coming Saturday, but Barcelona made a statement of intent by moving 11 points clear of Real Madrid by thumping Deportivo la Coruna 4-0 on Sunday, with a brace each for Luis Suarez and Paulinho.

Real were not in action in La Liga, having just claimed their fifth trophy of 2017 by winning the Club World Cup, and so have a game in hand, but have a lot of work to do – starting with the Clasico on Saturday.

In Ligue 1, Nabil Fekir and Mariano Diaz scored as Lyon beat Marseille 2-0 in a battle between the sides currently placed third and fourth in the league.
