Hitachi Solutions India, a subsidiary of Hitachi Solutions America and a leading provider of global industry solutions and services based on Microsoft Dynamics software, has announced the opening of its third global development centre in India and the second one in Chennai. It has its first centre in Hyderabad.
Addressing reporters on Wednesday, Mike Gillis, President and Global Chief Operating officer of Hitachi Solutions America, said the plan was to increase the headcount to 600 from 250 at present.
The Chennai centre would enhance support for Hitachi Solutions’ global implementation efforts and global managed services offerings, he said. Mr. Gillis said India would be the central point for its global operations and there was a strong global demand for its software solutions.
Keiho Akiyama, CEO, Hitachi Solutions America, said the India strategy had become an integral part for Hitachi Solutions Group and the expansion would supplement Hitachi Solutions’ global expansion needs which would include Japan in the future.
According to Ananth Subramanian, CEO and Managing Director, Hitachi Solutions India, the centre would focus on key Microsoft technologies and would act as a new hub for its academic programme targeting students at the engineering colleges and business schools.
