Forevermark, the diamond brand from the De Beers group of companies, made its entry into Chennai.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Tuesday, Stephen Lussier, CEO, said Forevermark had partnered select leading jewellers such as G. R. Thanga Maligai, Joyallukas, Prince Jewellers, Sugal and Damani Jewellers, VBJ Jewellers and Malabar Gold as partners. Exquisite diamonds would be displayed at these stores.
Mr. Lussier said Forevermark diamonds were the world's most carefully selected diamonds, each bearing a unique inscription. Forevermark had a presence in China, Japan, and Hong Kong. It plans to enter the U.S. by October this year. Worldwide, Forevermark diamonds were available in 400 outlets, which would be doubled in a year, he said.
Mr. Lussier said only a select group of Master Diamantaires were eligible to cut and polish Forevermark diamonds. Worldwide, Forevermark had selected 31 diamond cutters and out of this, 13 were in India.
He said only in January this year, Forevermark was launched in India and started its operations in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai. The Chennai launch would be followed by Hyderabad and Kolkata. It plans to introduce ‘Mille-Moi', designed for women, in the fourth quarter of this year.
