Vespa on Friday made its re-entry into India with Italy's Piaggio Group introducing its new models of scooters aimed at making it a premium and lifestyle brand. The company plans to introduce its scooters in April this year, while it has already set up a manufacturing facility at Baramati in Maharashtra.

“Our foray into the Indian market activates a whole new segment of style and fashion-conscious consumers who are looking for a premium, exclusive, lifestyle offering reflecting their personalities and attitudes,” Piaggio Vehicles Chairman and Managing Director Ravi Chopra told journalists at the Auto Expo.

Availability

Initially, Vespa scooters will be available in 35 cities and the company plans to open its stores across India.
