Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) on Friday announced the commencement of bookings of its soon-to-be-launched new compact car Eon from October 1.
Positioned as the Korean carmaker's new entry level car in India, Eon is likely to hit the market around this Diwali.
The customers can book Eon by visiting the nearest Hyundai dealership or by logging on to its specially designed website www. eonindiaon.com .
To be manufactured at the HMIL's plant at Sriperumbudur near Chennai, Eon, which means ‘eternity', is likely to priced somewhere between Rs.2.50 lakh and Rs.3 lakh. The car is being targeted at first time buyers who want to buy a spacious and stylish car that is high on fuel economy.

The parent Hyundai Motor Company (HMC)'s research and design engineers have worked closely with the HMIL's R&D unit in Hyderabad to develop Eon to meet the needs of customers in India. Eon, which will bear Hyundai's latest design philosophy of ‘fluidic sculpture', has design elements and features that have been specifically developed for Indian conditions.
