Emami Q1 net up 24 per cent

FMCG firm Emami Ltd on Wednesday reported a 23.92 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs. 87.75 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2015, against Rs. 70.81 crore during the same period of previous fiscal.

Net sales of the company rose to Rs. 589.87 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal, up 22.44 per cent against Rs. 481.73 crore during June quarter of 2014-15 fiscal, Emami said in a BSE filing.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs. 1,346 apiece on the BSE, up 1.39 per cent from their previous close, in morning trade.
