Anti-profit shifting pact gets nod

To curb exploiting tax law loopholes

The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the signing of a multilateral international agreement to prevent the shifting of profits to jurisdictions with no or very low tax rates.

“The Cabinet has given its approval for the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting,” the government said in a statement.
