Amudhasurabhi

Rama, Sita and Lakshmana are proceeding towards the ashram of rishi Athiri. As they reach his abode, the sage receives them with warmth and hands over Sita to his wife Anasuya, woman of great spiritual strength, gained through her tapas. The affectionate lady uses her power to get fine jewellery and adorns Sita. Veteran Gopulu captures this scene on the cover with Tirupur Krishnan matching it with an absorbing story. The volume has a rich literary flavour, an interview with Solomon Pappiah and a tribute to Thenkachi Swaminathan enhancing the values. Short stories, poems and history find copious space in this edition, priced at Rs. 100.

Gopura Darisanam

The edition, as it is usual, lives up to its name, sumptuously filling up the pages with matters spiritual and divine. Articles are about temples, places, people and subjects from Tamil literature and legend. The authors form an impressive line-up – Suki Sivam, Sudha Seshayyan, Rm. Veerappan, Velukkudi Krishnan and other scholars. Paramacharya’s account of Vinayaka’s origin and the attendant tales is delightful and illuminating. Numismatics gets a niche with DInamalar R. Krishnamurthi’s essay on coins of China unearthed in India. Studded with colourful pictures of deities and Gurus, the issue is priced at Rs. 100.

Amman Darisanam

Poovarasankuppam Sri Lakshinarasimhar decorates the cover of this volume (Rs. 100), that opens with the message of Sri Bharati Tirtha Swami of Sringeri Sarada Peetam. There are articles on and by other gurus of the Math. And the edition also offers information on temples seldom written about.

Om Sakti

This edition comprises short stories, interviews with Vani Jayaram and Dr. Karan Singh, essays on various subjects from literature to theology.

Sri Sai Margam

As the name suggests, Sri Sai Margam (Rs. 99) pivots round saint of Shirdi – his teachings, devotees’ experiences, poems and messages. Even short stories have spirituality running as an undercurrent. Bharatanatyam guru Latha Ravi writes on the show exponent Padma Subramaniam organised at the Brihadiswara temple, Thanjavur.
