Top stars, ace directors and popular singers descended on stage to hail the achievements of music composer Harris Jeyaraj who was felicitated at a function organised by Laya Media here on Sunday.

In an event peppered with musical hits of the composer, film personalities and singers attributed their success to the chartbusters by Harris Jeyaraj.

“He is among the few composers who did not hesitate to experiment. A hard worker in every sense of the word, he is choosy about his films,” said director Shankar.

Director Gautam Vasudev Menon said he had worked with Harris Jeyaraj for 30 songs and admired the composer's acumen to slot in songs at the right place.

“He is a composer with admirable screenplay knowledge. He knows exactly what type of songs can pace up the movie,” said director A.R. Murugadoss.

Singers Harish Raghavendra, Mahati, Saindavi, Naresh Iyer and Krish belted out super hits of Harris Jeyaraj.

The frenzied crowd began to swell soon after actors Suriya and Karthi made appearances and congratulated the composer on his success. Actors Sathyaraj and Vinay, and poet-lyricist Vaali lauded the composer's musical finesse.

Dedicating his achievements to his parents, Harris Jeyaraj said the journey has been educative and entertaining so far and expressed hope that he would continue to bring out memorable numbers. Observing that the members of the orchestra are the backbone for any composers, he said he would make efforts to include their names in his film's credits.
