What they say
Producer N. R. Srinivasan: The storyline appealed to me, especially the comedy sections. Though I was not present throughout the shoot, I would always enjoy a hearty laugh whenever I happened to visit the location. I feel that a good comedy film is the need of the hour.
Director V.Srinivasan Sunder: I am Director Muktha V. Srinivasan’s son and have completed a course in cinematography from the American Film Institute. I have earlier directed four films — Kodai Mazhai, Ethir Kattru, Chinna China Asaigal and Kangalin Varthaigal — and worked as a cameraman for films such as Kathanayagan, Vaai Kozhuppu and Brahmacharigal . I am directing a film after a gap of seven years. It is a comedy with Vivek playing the role of a bungling cop. The film is shot in exotic locations such as Mercara, Karwar, Pune, Mahabaleswar, Panchgani and Ahmednagar. The hero, heroine, villains, and bungling CID officer Vivek, travel across three states on a wild goose chase filled with comic situations. The film has close to 35 minutes of computer graphics with an invisible man playing various pranks.
Hero Dharu: I was about to leave Mumbai for Chennai to be part of a fashion show and had no inkling that I would land a hero’s role. My father Bhandari was also an actor and I’ve played a few roles in Hindi cinema. While walking the ramp in Chennai, director Srinivasan Sunder spotted me and cast me in the hero’s role in his film.
Music DirectorsK. S. Manoj and G. D. Prasad: I am a software engineer (Manoj), with a deep love for Carnatic music. I’ve earlier composed the music for Nan Sivanagirean . My friend G. D. Prasad is a marketing manager by profession who has done a number of jingles. We are happy we’ve got a good response to our album.
Music Highlights:
There are six numbers in the album. The best is ‘Ithu Enna Mayamo’, written by Nishanth. What’s interesting is familiar sounds such as whistle blowing, raindrops and the radio are beautifully incorporated in the song, sung by Vinay and Raina. The same lyricist’s ‘Bhumika’ set to tune in rag Kalyani is pleasantly rendered by Haricharan. Prasanna and Harini sing the melodious duet ‘Azhagana Poigal’ based on raga Kaapi; it’s written again by Nishanth. Three songs are written by Sivakasi Sridar — a folk number ‘Padikka Padikka’ sung by Vinay, Barath and M.J.Deekshith, ‘C.B.I.Singam’ sung by Sunanthitha and Kalyan, and the title song ‘Pathayiramkodi’, sung by Nathamuni Gayathri.
