Work on the Vishal-starrer “Samar” is progressing at a brisk pace. In fact, the unit will soon be in Bangkok for its next schedule. The film's director, Thiru, said, “Vishal and I, along with a few other members of the unit, are flying to Bangkok. Trisha is to join us a couple of days later. Sunaina, who plays the other heroine in the film, J. D. Chakravarthy, Manoj Bajpayee and the rest of the cast will join us as shooting progresses. Once we are through with this 19-day schedule, only the songs will remain to be shot.”
The director added, “We intend to shoot the songs in Malaysia. The film is an action thriller. It is basically about a man whose life is thrown out of gear by a sudden incident and how he comes to terms with it.”

No gain without pain
If you thought acting is a cakewalk and actors have it easy, then think again. Actor Aadhi, who is working on “Maranthen Mannithen,” being produced by Lakshmi Manchu, had to undergo a lot of pain while shooting for the movie.
Says Aadhi, “The movie is based on a tragic incident that happened on the banks of the Godavari in the Eighties. The river was in spate and the area got flooded, resulting in the death of scores of people.”
Continues Aadhi, “To shoot the flood sequence, we had to erect a giant set spread over 21 acres. Over 170 huts had to be built inside four tanks that were dug. Each tank had varying levels of water to show the different stages of flooding. As wooden planks and nails were used to build the huts, it was impossible to remove the nails when the huts got submerged. Unfortunately, I sustained a cut caused by a sharp plank near my navel and another injury caused by a nail. Both the wounds were very painful. Every day, I had to remain in the tank and the murky water delayed the healing process. There was nothing anybody could do about it. I was worried the wounds would turn septic. However, luckily for me, nothing of that sort happened.”
