IOB, Chennai winners of the 24th all India flood-lit volleyball tournament for men for the TMB trophy at SAV school grounds, Tuticorin here on Sunday.

IOB, Chennai and Central Railway, Mumbai won the final of the TDVA organised 24th all-India flood-lit volleyball tournament for men and women respectively for the TMB Trophy here on Sunday.

In the men’s final, IOB defeated SRM, Chennai 29-27, 25-19, 26-28, 25-18 while Central Railway beat Kerala Police 15-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-18 in the women’s title clash.

IOB received a cash award of Rs. 75, 000 while SRM took home Rs. 50, 000. Central Railway women were richer by Rs. 50,000 while Kerala Police walked away with Rs. 30,000.

S. Murugan, DIG, Tirunelveli Range was the chief guest and gave away the trophy.

The results (final):Men: IOB, Chennai bt SRM, Chennai 29-27, 25-19, 26-28, 25-18.

Women: Central Railway, Mumbai bt Kerala Police 15-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-18.

Special awards:Men: Best attacker : Chatirian (SRM); Best setter : Ukkarapandi (IOB); Best blocker: Ragul (SRM); Best universal : Selva Prabhu (IOB); Best libero : Aswin (SRM, Chennai).

Women: Best attacker : Priyanka Bora (Central Railway); Best setter : Jerin Antony (Central Railway); Best blocker: Anju Mol (Kerala Police); Best universal : Fousath (Kerala Police).
