German tennis player Andrea Petkovic on Wednesday said she had been forced to withdraw from the Olympic Games after an injury left her running after her form.
The 24-year-old said she was very saddened by the decision not to play at the July 27-August 12 Games.
After picking up an injury during the WTA tournament in Stuttgart in April, she underwent an operation, but has not recovered sufficiently to compete in London.
