ITF Women’s Championships: Karman loses in final

Karman Kaur Thandi, seeded number four, met her match in top seed and World No. 70 Tamara Zidansek in the final of the $25000 BVG Pune Open ITF Women’s Championships, played at the MSLTA School of Tennis, Balewadi.

The Slovakian called the shots in a one-sided final, beating her Indian rival in straight sets. The event is organised under the auspices of AITA , MSLTA and PMDTA by NS Sports Academy.

The champion said: “ It was great tournament for me. I am happy with the results. Karman is a really good player.” She earned 50 WTA points and a trophy, while Karman got 30 WTA points and a trophy.
