Paes to team up with Granollers

Leander Paes, Rajeev Ram, Benoit Paire and Borna Coric will lead the doubles draw at the Aircel Chennai Open starting next week.

India’s Leander Paes will team up with Spain’s Marcel Granollers and will be seeded second, while top-seed Raven Klaasen who alongside Paes finished runners-up in the previous edition will partner Rajeev Ram.

Mahesh Bhupathi will also take part in the doubles with an entry protected ranking and is likely to partner Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller. Four more direct acceptances will be signed on-site and two pairs will be awarded wild cards to play.

Meanwhile in the singles field, following Yuki Bhambri and Janko Tipsarevic’s withdrawal, Illya Marchenko of Ukraine and Spain’s Daniel Gimeno-Traver will be part of the main draw.
