The stage is set for a riveting battle between Kenya’s Micah Kogo and Japhet Korir for the TCS World 10K title here on Sunday.

Kogo, once the holder of the 10km world record, is the overwhelming favourite, although his focus has shifted to the half and full-marathon distances since that historic 27:01 at the Parelloop 10k in 2009. Kogo was here in 2011, when he was widely tipped for victory but finished a disappointing 16th. A former World Cross Country champion, Korir finished a lowly 17th here two years ago and will be keen to make amends.
