S. Attaollahi-trained Cosmic Ray (Suraj up), won the Raghulal Mysore 1000 Guineas, the first classic event of the season held here on Thursday (Sept 19). The winner is owned by United Racing & Bloodstock Breeders Ltd.
Cosmic Ray was racing in a handy second position till the home stretch when Suraj, who ran a well-judged raced race, skilfully manoeuvred the mount near 300m to gallop past favourite Thailand and take the honours in a course record time of 1m, 33.65s.
