Telugu Titans, in search of winner’s prize in the ProKabaddi League, will commence the campaign in the seventh edition of the season when it takes on U Mumba in the inaugural match of the Hyderabad-leg at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

The home crowd should be excited at the prospect of Siddharth Desai, the most expensive player of the season, with Titans bidding him for a whopping ₹1.45 crores, unravelling his skills against the former teammates from U Mumba for which he played last season.

“We fought hard last season and we will continue to do the same this year as well.

“This season we have youngsters with us who have shown the same dedication and promise as Sidharth.

“Sidharth and I know each other well and we do have a plan to tackle him which you will see in the game tomorrow,” said Fazel Atrachali, U Mumba captain with a big smile, on the eve of the match at a promotional event featuring captains of all the 12 teams in the fray.

Titans captain Abozar Mohajer Mighani believes that his team could well be the strongest to enter this time around, given the kind of balance it has in attack and defence.

“We are determined to live up to the expectations of the fans,” he said.

Tamil Thalaivas captain Ajay Thakur says: “Rahul and I have been playing for some time now for team India and we have great chemistry, but this is the first occasion where both of us will be seen together in PKL.”

Great feast

He believes that it is going to be a great feast for the fans.

Defending champions Bengaluru Bulls captain Rohit Kumar felt all teams are extremely competitive and picked Gujarat Fortunegiants and Thailavas as the strongest outfits in this season.

“We are aiming to win maximum of the matches and even if we lose, it should be with minimum difference,” he said even as his team is geared up to take on Patna Pirates on Saturday in the second match of the evening. On the other hand, Pirates captain Pardeep Narwal reminded that they won the title thrice and are determined to win it again.

“We are a strong and balanced side and there’s nothing that will stop us. Personally, I’m also working on some new moves which you’ll see on the mat in our opening game.” he concluded.
