Three Indians make semifinals

Pinki Jangra (48kg), Sonia Lather (51kg) and Sarita Devi (60kg) posted facile victories to reach the semifinals in the Asian women's boxing championship at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Wednesday.

Pinki defeated Dina Ilyubayeva of Kazakhstan 17-8, while Sonia thrashed Vidhushika Prabadhi Mohott of Sri Lanka 24-5 and Sarita beat Kazakh boxer Gulzhaina Ubbiniyazova 23-11.

In the semifinals, Pinki will meet China's Yujie Luo, Sonia will take on Gulzhan Akimova of Kazakhstan and Sarita will face Chen Dong of China.

In 64kg, Meena Rani lost to Uyanga Erdenesoyol of Mongolia 11-13.
