The Combination bags Ruia Silver Trophy

Kolkata’s The Combination bagged the Ruia Silver Trophy tallying a total of 207 points at the end of the Swiss super league of the 54th winter National bridge championship at the Gitanjali Stadium here on Wednesday.

In the prestigious Ruia Gold Cup, Railways ‘A’ along with Formidables from Delhi, Poddar Developers and Indian Blues, both from Bombay qualified for the semifinals.

In the quarterfinals, Railways drubbed Swiss League leader Ajay Bagaria 158-61; Formidables beat Maya Meera Sneha 129-104; Poddar defeated Mohta 74-50 and Hemant Jalan’s IV conceded the match to India Blues at 49-95.

In the semifinals on Thursday, Railways will play India Blues and Formidables will take on Poddar Developers.

In the Ruia Silver trophy, The Combination was followed by runner-up Dr. Subrata Sengupta (198). It was followed by B.D.B.A. Durgapur (189), R.K.D. Infrastructure (185) and Konnagar VI (171).
