Smriti Mehra snatches lead

Smriti Mehra of Kolkata shot a one-over 71 to take sole lead at the end of the second round of the 11th leg of the 15-leg Hero women's pro golf tour at the Tollygunge Club course here on Wednesday.

Vandana Agarwal, also of Kolkata, had a hole-in-one on the par-3 11th hole en route to a card of 70 — the best card of the day, which helped her jump to second place behind Smriti.

Smriti now has a total of three-over. Vandana is in second place at 147.

Young Nalini Singh Siwach of Delhi, who had won the 10th leg at the RCGC, dropped down the leader board with a round of 78 and she is now fourth — one behind the third placed Shraddhanjali Singh of Delhi (73) who is at 149.

Smriti had four birdies and five bogeys in an eventful round while Vandana had an eagle (from the hole-in-one), three birdies and five bogeys.

Ankita Tiwana of Delhi (75-77) is fifth at 152 and Rukmini Mehta of Kolkata sixth at 157.
