Some of the leading professionals on the domestic circuit will be seen in action in the Rs.30 lakh Hemisphere PGTI Masters starting at the Noida Golf Course here from Tuesday.
The event, promising a winner’s cheque of Rs. 4.5 lakh, assumes significance for the domestic golfers who will use it as a preparation for the much-anticipated co-sanctioned Indian Open, to be held at the Delhi Golf Club from February 19 to 22.
Well-known professionals such as 2014 PGTI Order of Merit winner in 2014 Shankar Das, S. Chikkarangappa, Himmat Rai, Om Prakash Chouhan, Shamim Khan, Chiragh Kumar, Mukesh Kumar, Angad Cheema, Abhijit Singh Chadha, Khalin Joshi and Shubhankar Sharma will test their skills over the next four days.
“The golf course looks good and this can be a low scoring event,” said Chadha.PGTI regulars from abroad — including Sri Lankans N. Thangaraja and Anura Rohana, Nepal’s Shiva Ram Shrestha and Bangladesh’s Md Zamal Hossain Mollah – will also provide a strong challenge.
