India’s Payas Jain lost to top seed and World No. 1 Yuanyu Chen of China 4-0 in the final of 25th Asian junior and cadet table tennis championships in Ulaanbaatar on Saturday.

Payas went on the offensive but gave way in the face of some fine attacking play by the Chinese, losing 13-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-5.

In the first game, Payas matched his Chinese rival, getting to deuce. But the top seed converted the point, the second match-point. After that, it was one-way traffic.

Paya earned a berth in the Asian squad which will participate in the World Cadet Challenge at Wladyslawowo (Poland) in October.

India ended its campaign with two silvers — one by junior boys and one by Payas.
