K. Humpy commenced her campaign for the elusive women's World chess title with white pieces in the 10-game match against defending champion China's Hou Yifan in Tirana, Russia on Monday.
After 26 moves, Humpy held a miniscule positional advantage in the Catalan game. Both players had a queen, a rook, a bishop and six pawns.
Humpy's current rating is 2600 as against Yifan's 2578. Humpy has twice lost to Yifan in World championship mini-matches. She is looking to avenge the defeats in the much-awaited clash.
