Aruna’s coach Brij Kishore passes away

Gymnastics coach Brij Kishore of Sports Authority of Telangana State, whose trainee B. Aruna Reddy had won bronze in World Cup gymnastics recently, passed away from cancer here on Thursday morning. He was 50 and survived by wife and two daughters.

Aruna, now participating in the Commonwealth Games, expressed shock at the demise of her coach through her family members.

Sports minister Padma Rao Goud, B. Venkatesham (secretary, YA & T), A. Dinakaran Babu (VC & director of SATS) and A. Venkateshwar Reddy (SATS chairman), were among those who expressed their condolences.

The sports minister had recently given a ₹25 lakh to the family members and the Telangana Sports Journalists Association had also contributed ₹25,000.
