Jeev tied 87th

June 04, 2010 04:33 pm | Updated 04:33 pm IST - Dublin (Ohio)

Jeev Milkha Singh is in danger of missing his second successive cut after turning in a disappointing two-over 74 to in the opening round of the Memorial Tournament here.

Lying tied 87th, the Chandigarh pro, who missed the cut at last week’s Crowne Plaza International in Texas, could suffer a similar fate here if he fails to raise his game at the Muirfield Village Golf Club.

It was a steady start to the proceedings as Jeev found a birdie on the second and parred next four holes.

A double-bogey on the seventh hole made it one-over for Jeev but a birdie on the ninth had him even-par at the turn.

The back-nine was a tumultuous affair and Jeev stumbled to four bogeys against a couple of birdies to round off a rather disappointing day.

At the top, it was a three-way tie for the lead between England’s Justin Rose, American Rickie Fowler and Australian Geoff Oglivy after the all three of them opened with 65s.
